The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Abay river that comprises more than 80% of the total water volume of Nile,the longest river in the world, is not only a mighty project that has become as yet another reason to unite the peoples of Ethiopia, it is also a clear indication that this country, in the midst of its struggle to eradicate poverty, no more relay on external financial aids. Needless to say, the nation's efforts to build the dam have been obstructed for various internal and external factors that include the sabotage of some countries to block all the roads to foreign financial supports and loans.
