Last year this Examiner discovered a number of truly great cookbooks and food-focused books by way of food and drink events, the fabulous James Beard Foundation's "Beard on Books" series, and the 92St Y food series, among other foodie networks. There seemed to be an increase in the number of "foodoir" - or food-as-memoir styled books authored mainly by famous, celebrity chefs.
